Translation loading for the goodbye underoath. a band as influential for the Kingdom as you have been only comes along once in a great while. goodbye underoath. you are the greatest proof that a band can do incredible work for the Kingdom, even if it’s completely not “contemporary christian music”. i just bought the they’re only chasing safety gold special edition vinyl. it’s a sad time. I’ve watched @anberlin grow from energetic up-and-comers to a full fledged rock staple. Vital is beautiful, stunning, and polished to a perfect sheen. (Taken with Instagram) memphis may fire is IMPOSSIBLY talented. it’s crazy to think that a band that everyone completely gave up hope for turned it so radically around. i’ve written on them a few times, but Challenger is seriously one of the strongest new albums i’ve heard in months [and in -core, months is a LONG time, especially considering the sheer number of comparable genre albums out in the last two or three…]
honestly. matty mullins is an electrifying frontman, and his perfect screaming AND singing [trust me, he can pull it off amazingly well live] are almost a full distraction from the tight musicianship the rest of the gang puts together. if you haven’t heard Challenger… get some. cheers, in my pseudo-metal [read: nü metal] days, i somehow listened to as i lay dying. keep in mind, this is… at least 6 or 7 years ago. after hearing tim lambesis guest vocal on TDWP’s Constance, now, years later, i HAVE to go back and revisit as i lay dying. tim lambesis’ animal roar is irresistible. pretty excited. cheers, i-will-wait-for-you-endlessly: SPREAD THE WORD Confide announced this morning that they were officially back together and are working on making a 2nd album, due to be released this Winter (In USA). They have requested that fans help donate to them through their kickstarter in order to make the 2nd album. They have many awesome prizes you get by donating such as: and remember SPREAD THE WORD/SHOUT THE TRUTH I LITERALLY HAVE NOT BEEN THIS EXCITED ABOUT A BAND REUNITING SINCE YELLOWCARD ANNOUNCED THE BIG NEWS. i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, confide was and even now, is, one of the most underrated bands in the genre. very, very fresh talent, and it’s great to have two of my heroes, ross kenyon and joel piper, back in the writing and on vocals and vocals/drums, respectively. oh, this is gonna be beautiful. Recover, the newest album [2010] is still one of my favorite PHC albums. cheers, and DONATE. cause i’m about to now. brand new track from ANBERLIN! there’s a name we haven’t heard much in a while. this one’s called Self-Starter, and it is 100% Anberlin. it maintains the hyper-polished sound that the floridians have taken on in the past few albums, but it’s a little [read: actually, a LITTLE] grittier. stephen christian sounds as good as ever, and the instrumentation remains tight-knit but not particularly different from before. or at least, that’s what i’d say. either way, good stuff. looking forward to the follow-up to 2010’s Dark is the Way, Light is A Place. looks like the new album will drop on october 16th of this year. here’s the listen link, courtesy of billboard. http://bit.ly/PjsCzM cheers, yellowcard featuring tay jardine [of we are the in crowd] with a new video for Here I Am Alive from the new YC album, Southern Air. for the record, i think southern air is VERY strong. like When You’re Through, it’s no Ocean Ave, but it’s still catchy, contentful, and full of sun in typical yellowcard fashion. i thought the song was a little cheesy and overproduced when i heard it on the album yesterday, but the video makes it a lot better. and for whatever reason, i thought tay was a little annoying, but the video is helping with that. i know she has a great voice… and she is quite cute. video’s here: cheers, fifteen [FIFTEEN!] years into their career, yellowcard still has it, and has it in SPADES. great new song Always Summer off the august 14th LP, Southern Air. previously the band had released a lyric video, but they premiered an actual music video today, and it gives me chills how much i want to be somewhere sunny. i also don’t really have words for how happy i am to see sean mackin still so energetic in the video. he’s been battling cancer for the last half year, and it sounds like he’s doing pretty well. yellowcard really wouldn’t be the same without him, and honestly i think he brings a sort of sincere energy that has a flavor a little different from ryan’s. check the video here: http://hopelessrecords.com/yellowcard/ and preorder the new album. i’m definitely going to. cheers, mthemes domain was triggered too early. just so it’s clear, wolves at the gate will probably be my breakout heavy band of 2011 AND 2012. there’s very little like what they’re doing at the caliber they’re doing it. this video is beautiful.
cheers.
